At 11:30am, the wafting scents of BBQ salmon could already be smelled as far away as Vision Quest. We stopped by the Lake City Community Center as they were just getting ready to open this year’s annual Salmon Bake. This fundraiser, which directly supports the community center, has been a Lake City tradition for over 60 years.
Stop by today and tomorrow between noon & 7pm for alder-smoked salmon. It’s a steal! For $9 you get salmon, baked beans, potato salad, hot garlic bread, ice cream and a drink. Discounts for seniors and if your kids don’t like fish, they have hot dog plates available too for just $3.
Kids might also enjoy the model train exhibit, running concurrently with the Salmon Bake. These are both Pioneer Days traditions. To learn more, visit http://lakecityfestival.com/.
